To be honest i like the Mach 1 more.

Not to say the thought of getting a termi hasn't crossed my mind. Lets fact facts. 400+ HP, awesome brakes, cosy interior, leather seats, nice cold A/C. Just hop in it and drive and no worrying about anything.

Beleive me, i'd thought long and hard about it. I'd have to find some low mileage old-man owned car though.

Once I went to the track as a spectator and parked my true blue 03 GT next to a sonic blue 03 Cobra and as I looked back with both cars facing me, I liked how mine looked better. I had the stock hood but a Mach 1 grille delete and chin spoiler, along with the 17x9/17x10.5 DD Bullitts. Thats not to say I wouldnt have swapped straight up, but the GT with the chin spoiler and Mach have a slightly edgier look than the more bulbous lower valence of the Cobra

I liked my GT's hood as well. I did the Mach 1 grill and shin spoiler and thought it was a much more aggressive look.

Powerwise though, it doesn't compare. I drove my friends 450 rwHP Cobra one afternoon and then when i got back into my GT it felt like i was driving a civic

The '03-'04 Cobra is the sexiest Mustang made since the early-70's. Its one of the very few cars that I can say I like from every single angle.

Aswesome looks, tough as nails drive and power train, great performer on the street and at the track and most importanly the envy of Chevy lovers everywhere.

I love my Mach 1. The shaker hood, & the sail panels are 2 things that make the car look edgier & better than the Cobra IMO, but the Cobra spoiler, mirrors, & sidekirts are a few elements of the Cobra's exterior I like better ( probably why I have them on my car LOL). I also like the Mach 1 interior more than the Terminator interior, but when it comes to the drivetrain the Mach doesn't even come close... But, my car did put down 315rwhp/327rwtq with nothing more than full exhaust, intake, & a tune so these motors are pretty stout N/A...

Still can't beat the mean look of a tastefully modded Mach 1....

I agree! Ford definately had their S**t together when they built the 03-04 Mach's. My one buddy has had 3 different mach's and finally decided to keep his TR 03. I've driven all 3 of em and they are one mean car all stock. His 03 now has a built rear with full-exhaust and 4.30's out back and that thing runs hard! I will have one someday...

Then you didnt drive it right.

The 4V 4.6 is an absolute SCREAMER. If you dont wind it up its not going to impress you which to me is the beauty of the 96-01 Cobras and 03/04 Machs. You can drive them around as a DD all day and putt around but if you drop the hammer you can lay waste to many "fast" cars. My buddy had an 03 till he wrecked it drunk. I drove it once and loved it, I'd get a Mach in a second...I think 2003 was one of the best years for the Mustang honestly...the GT was a great car, but you could upgrade to the Mach for some extra fun or all the way up to the Cobra which we all know is an animal. I miss my 97 Cobra and 03 GT and would def own another one of either...and it goes without saying that both a Mach and Terminator are on my wish list!

Yes.....that's what I like ....it cruises around as a DD.....but has power when I need it.....on the freeway , I just down shift to 4th & punch it & around town 3rd -4th has plenty of power

Or with some minor work there are plenty of people putting down over 350rwhp N/A with under 5 liters of displacment, can a pushrod do that?
Yes, I'm guessing if I can put down 368 with stock heads at 5 liters, de-strok with a 260 crank and throw some real heads on it would come out with even more hp's.

Wow. Old thread.

Unfortunately I must amend my original statement as a lot has changed since 2009. I would not sell my Fox to buy a Mach 1. However, one day I wouldn't mind parking one in the garage next to it.
