You don't have to look overseas to find rediculous pricing. Look at this Ford dealer in Oregon trying to sell the '05 GT which has an MSRP of $141,000 for a whopping $477,000. That is over 3 times MSRP.

I'm a lucky one, I guess - living in the UK and should have my 05 GT delivered in about 2 weeks - for $28,900. Guess it pays to be retired military, with a wife working for the US forces overseas. I figure I can keep it for 2-3 years, and if I want to sell, should get a very good price over here, even after paying the heavy tax Brits pay on everything. At least the tax will be on the US value of the vehicle at the time, not the UK value. When I get it, I'll post some pics with typical British backgrounds - maybe a quaint pub? Cheers!

. In regards to the Ford GT however, it is a little more justifiable due to how limited the production is on those models. Still, one of the main selling points on those are the amount of performance for 150k. Those prices are damn near Porsche Carrera GT territory and approaching the Ferrari Enzo price.

That Ford GT is probably a typo mistake. Instead of hitting a 1, someone hit a 4. If you look at your number keys on the side of your keyboard, the 4 is just above the 1. Because nobody in the right mind would price that car for that much money in Oregon.

i highly highly doubt its a typo. most dealerships get two ford gt's. one is usually kept by the owner, the other is sold off. most sell it auction style, and most high bids are running 250-300k$ right now. there is no dealership in america that will sell that second gt for under 200k$ IMO

26,000 GBP isn't bad for a brand new 2005 Mustang GT. Granted, exchange rates make it seem really bad, but they're used to paying basically 1:1 on cars. Heck, a 350Z costs about 28,000-30,000 GBP as does an Evo or STI.

It is much worse here in the NL. An 05 GT at Hendriks ford www.us-ford.nl goes for EUR 52,900. In USD, that is about $69,000.

My local dealer is selling both their GTs at MSRP. The only reason is because one is going to the dealership owner and the other is going to Jack Roush.

This is a leetle out of topic. But car prices in UK ain't the dogs yet. A new camry in Singapore will cost you USD63K++. And there are plenty of those around. We don't have stangs, but i'd hate to know what they would cost.

Not true. No dealership is supposed to get more than 1 GT from Ford. They may buy them from other dealers who are getting one, but they get 1 from Ford. My father (he owns a Ford dealership) is getting 1...... and selling it.

Several dealerships have tried to buy his before he even gets it, but he won't sell it to another dealer. He is going to sell it on the open market.
