ok so switched to driving my chevy truck for the winter. Last weekend i took my gf to the movies and the first thing to piss me off was my door locks froze so we had to walk to walmart to buy a can of lock deicer no big deal really, well i drop my gf off but for some stupid reason my four wheel drive stops working so i couldnt even get up her driveway and about 5 miles from my place the damn thing loses all forward gears so i had to drive the rest of the way in reverse at 2 am, the reverse lights suck to depend on to drive in the dark and for some stupid reason my speedo randomly quits working whenever it decides which then it starts running like dog poop and nothing works like the cruise or anything and everywhere i look people who have had that problem never seem to figure out why its doing it . Damn near every chevy ive owned has had friggen tranny problems amnit: and i swear something new breaks on the stupid thing all the time its driving me crazy and to top it off i have to drive the svo now which is a real pain in the azz, lesson learned here is to stick with my fords no matter how much i dislike the styling of fords trucks

im tired of fixing the damn thing im just going to sell it and be done i can still get a decent amount for it if i can find someone to buy it with a tranny replacement needed...everyone is a chevy guy around here so im sure i can find someone who would take it off my hands...

What a coincidence, a friend of mine has a chevy(camaro) and he was telling me that he's also getting tired of fixing it up and that he wants to get rid of it, or drive it till it dies. He tranny also needs to be replaced...

stick with the fords they might not be as cheap as chevys but you never hardly work on them. My buddy has had 4-5 chevy trucks in the past 4 years my brother has had the same ford for 3 years.

My friend who has a chevy, says that fords are cheap and they break alot blah blah. I don't say nothing, but I point out how many times has something gone wrong with his chevy(way too much) and how many times has something gone wrong with my ford(zero).

I think the ford trucks look better than the chevy trucks. The 73-79 trucks are awesome. I have a 79 f 150 4x4. I think it is the best body style. They are beasts. Unfortunately i had a 74 chevy 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive for my first vehicle. When i bought it it had been rebuilt 20k ago. Well after about another 3k-4k the motor was done. So i got a crate motor directly from dealership. I had it for a few years than i finally convinced dad to let me have his 79 ford that had basically been sitting for the last 7-8 years (it was out of the blue when he finally gave in after 3 years lol). Well i rebuilt the motor in it and put a 400 crank & pistons in it plus a cam. Talk about a beast. And the best thing is my brother comes home and drives my old chevy pickup that had about 15k on the crate motor and a rod goes out hahaha. Good thing is it happened in the last month of the warranty. Now the chevy is just a farm truck and basically just hauls diesel fuel around. Im waiting for the tranny to go bye bye as it has been pretty sloppy since i got it. The new crate motor was a dog too. Atleast the orginal motor could spin the tires fairly decent the crate motor barely does. One thing is the chevy truck would have some interesting things to talk about if it could lol.

Ill see if I can find some. It does need a new paint job which i was thinking of doing this spring but i think I am going to wait to paint it and buy mustang this winter/spring. Well i found one lets see if i can do this right... View attachment 494511
The pic is a few years old and i put some polished aluminium eagle alloy 058's on it this summer. Look much better than the old white wheels I have too many damn ideas for the paint. Main one so far is going two tone with black on top and a dark shadow grey or something similar on the bottom with a stripe that ends in a flame like you see on the harley trucks to break up the two tone line.

The truck looks sweet The rims don't look too bad on it. Actually, I have some similiar ones on my 75 vette. Weird.

I think those rims are us wheel series 70's. They had started to rust after that picture was taken. Those arb air lockers are really tempting me now though.amnit: I need to find a mustang asap and maybe that will help stop me lol (then the money will go into the mustang instead

I think the eagles look much better. So you don't have a mustang? What kind are you planning on getting? Here these are the rims no the vette. They'e American racing rims from either the Late 70's or early 80's.

Thats kind of funny those are the exact same (look wise anyways) wheels that my dad had on the pickup but they started to rust badly so he just put on those white ones. Right now i have found a 02 black gt w/ 23k on it and a 99 silver w/ white racing stripes gt that i am hopefully going to look at next week (need to get myself a nice x-mas present dont i?lol) they are in the same town. i really like the black gt especially with only 23k on it. Basically im looking for an 99+ gt coupe that has a 5 speed and a v8 of course.

I'm also looking for a GT/Bullitt but I don't know if it will work out yet. If your planning on getting a GT take a look at some bullitts too. Ya, this rim's are probably going to be replaced since they were left alone for 20 years and the chrome on some of them cracked. This is how they looked before:

Ya i found the old chrome rims in a shed... wasnt much chrome anymore lol. Actually i have found 2 bullitts. One was a pretty good deal but it got sold pretty quick (before i could look at it) and the 2nd one was a ways away so i got in touch with the guy before even bothering going to check it out. He wanted about 3k over book on it. And this was after he said he would drop 1k on it because it was winter. Then he apparently found someone that would pay the price for it. I found a nice mineral gray stang where my friends goto college so i had him check it out and there were a couple of big scratches and the paint was peeling off the door i guess. It seems when i get serious about a car it gets sold right away. I am just hoping i can find someone to take me down to lincoln this week and get the time off from work too.

im just gonna keep the darn thing and rebuild the tranny so i can haul my stangs around since i just moved and just for giggles heres a pic of my truck(i still prefer chevys styling)...
