So just recently I've started hearing this noise that sounds like a pump kicking in and winding up then settling down then winding up again. It only happens when the car is in park or neutral so I would assume its coming from the transmission. I can't really pin point the noise but it seems to fall in the transmission area.
Also, it'll do this for about 5 minutes then stop. But it'll start again if I switch gears and end up back in park or neutral. It sounds alot like the fuel pumping priming actually, but I can't hear anything when I stand at the rear of the car.
Any idea what it could be?
