Ok, in the engine bay, below the stock air box, i have a little thing. I think it has something to do with vaccum. It has two circle kind of 'top' things on it. Sorry for being so vauge. The reason why i want to know is because there is a line that goes out of that, twords the pass. side firewall. The previous owner obviously had it touching the header and it go fried in two, with both ends sealed. I was wondering if it was any big deal or not. I could get a pic if nobody knows what im talking about.

Thanks

that is your charcoal canister, it vents gas fumes from the tank back into the motor.

The carbon canister vents fuel vapor into the intake manifold at cruse. This helps richen up the cruse mixture slightly. It also eliminates the gas stink when the car is closed up in the garage or other poorly ventilated place. Don’t park you car in the garage if you have a gas fired water heater, the fuel vapors are a potential explosive hazard.

If you have emissions testing in your area, plan on re-connecting it. You won't pass the visual inspection without it.
