So I installed a new fuel tank, fuel lines, and sending unit. The pump is only a year old. The weird thing is that when I turn the key the pump doesn't make any noise like it did before when i would turn the key into the on position, but the can started up ok. Anyone know why all of a suddun the pump doesn't make the normal noise it would usually make during startup? Thanks

Maybe the new tank is thicker steel or something, and it's just quieter?

The tank is the same thickness. I've heard of the pumps making noise when you turn the key ,its a normal thing. Thats why I'm woundering why its not making any noise. Thanks for the response, any other theories?

hmm. its possible that the wiring to the pump is not connected, or the relay, fuse, etc. is bad. one time i had a ford contour that started and ran with the fuel pump disconnected. check your fuel pressure and see if it is at spec or at what you have it set at.
