I don't know what it is but I can't stand his style of design. I have yet to see a paint job, or car of his that I like.

I could deal with any of his overhaulin cars.. They are dead sexy and I wish I had the money to get him to get my cars to the levels they deserve.

Have to agree I generally do not like his stuff with a couple exceptions. I definitely do not like his rims but I do not like most aftermarket rims. They are always too over the top and hell would freeze over before I spent 1000 or more on freaking rims.

It just his 2 tone paint jobs I dont like. He almost always paints the top half
1 color and the sides some other color. That style went out in the early 90's.

I can't say I agree. I would say that close to every car I would see him overhaul would turn out to be a work of art. Everytime I see a Foose car I think "this guy really knows what he's doing." Jmo

+1, the fact that he also happens to be a really good guy who seems to treat his employees well adds to his legendary status in the automotive world.

I agree on the Foose wheels; they are pretty darn fugly...the cars are really well done, but sometimes the paint is a bit much, but they are show cars and that's typical for that style car...

I think he did a really nice new T-bird and his 2005 Mustang is pretty sweet too

I like most of his work but there are many projects that I think are ugly. I too dont care for most of his wheels too. But he is very talented and is one of those genuine nice guys.
On Overhaulin he has made some very beautifull cars though. I also liked the 2010 Mustang he did on Horsepower TV several months back with the blower and tri tone paint. The black/yellow/red seemed to work well together.

I also like how when he builds a car he always does a great brake and suspension setup.

You guys have to take into consideration that Chip Foose is primarily a hot rod designer. He worked for Boyd Coddington for years and made mostly classic hot rods and roadsters like this one:

While I consider myself a traditionalist when it comes to classic cars and muscle cars, I can respect what Chip Foose does because he's a designer and a craftsman who loves what he does. I don't care for the majority of his wheels, but the hot rod world and the Mustang community couldn't be any different if they tried. Some of Chip's design concepts don't lend themselves well to newer vehicles, but I respect him regardless of my personal opinions about his creations.

I also can't get it out of my head when I watch Overhaulin that he looks like Goat Boy Jim Breuer from SNL.

I won't argue that he's not an artist or that he doesn't do a good job on the cars. It's just that I don't like the style he works in. At all. JMO

What he said. He's obviously awesome...I just don't like his style.
