I just got my shift light in...

I was reading the HOW-TO found here (http://mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/dzshiftlight.htm) and it says that i have to hook up the (+) and (-) wires anywhere, but the other wire has to be hooked up at the computer. I cant splice into the tach wire behind the cluster. Does anyone know why not, or if thats even true? It would be SO much easier if I could just tap the wire behind the cluster.

tap into the one behind the cluster. its the same wire. get some pics up when your done

Mine is tapped to the back of the cluster...

I have a raptor shift light and I tapped into the harness behind the cluster. If you go to Raptorperformance.com they have instructions with pictures.

Ok, Im going bring my car to the body shop later today so my friend can finish wet sanding and buffing. Ill put it in while Im there. I was going to put it on the steering column, but its too big. What do you guys think about putting it on the a-pillar?
