so i know all my questions are about getting my car started but its starting to frustrate me so im takin a step back and coming back here you guys always seem to have a lot of insite..ok so my cars hood flew up a few weeks back and so i have had it off while i wait for my new hinges. well this past week i had to go to arkansas to visit my grandparents for christmas and i left my car outside( can u guess where i am headed) well anyways i live in arizona and it hadnt rained for a few months so i figured im fine exspecially since i dont have anywere to put the car in doors anyhow so i left it out and it rained and alot of my conections got rusty so today i have been cleaning them all off and trying to get it to turn over but the only thing that is happening is a clicking soud coming from the Solenoid(spelling) or at least thats what i have callled it not the starter and not the ignition coil but the one of the fender that the positive lead from the battery runs directly to the solenoid. the car does not turn over but the lights work. so please help me smart men of :SNSign: :hail2: thanks again guys

well that is what i thought so i had it hooked up to a jumper and it still did not start just did the clicking so i assumed i had a bad connection so i skiped the cables and hooked it up straight to the solenoid and it did the same thing any advice?

Edit: well i just noticed u live in tuscon my girlfriend is going to be going to school there next year and im trying to get a job in the fire department near there ha but yea thanks for all the advice everyone i figured out taht i think i had a poor ground i bought a new solenoid and it didnt do much so i started messing around with more wires and figured it out and got it running again!

single click can also mean bad ground connection.

Sometimes with a bad ground, you will have full power to all lights, then turn the ignition and hear a single click, but not have any power to anything.
