HELP! I need a short block

I just found out that my motor has a bottom end problem, so i was looking for a good inexpensive short block to replace it. Ive been looking at dss and coast high. I was wondering if there were any others. Are there certian internals I should look for? any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

You could have it rebuilt locally. There is also Ford Motorsport, Kieth Black, probe... I can't think of them all. Then there is Rick 91GT or RNH performace that can hook you a good deal.

I got my shortblock complete for $700, but I just found a good deal. It would have been if I decided to go with it. It's a 306 non roller speedpro pistons, remachined crank and rods. I decided to go with a 347 so I am taking that stuff out.

just let everybody around you know you are looking for one... i did that, and my machine shop had an employee, whos DAD had one sitting at his shop, picked up a fresh shortblock fully rebuilt for 250 bucks.... its nice - theres many deals out there!

Here's a few I know, heard good things about them all. I'm using the last one in the list for my 331 buildup, he does price matching and makes sure you're not buying cheap quality parts. I have heard some complaints about DSS on Stangnet, might want to run a search.
