I was puting in my SN 95 axles in my 8 an noticed that my Trac Lock was "broken" so i spun it around and the other side moved the same way. I put my finger inside where the pin goes and wiggled both sides. Is this normal for the unit?

hmm I think you are talking about the spider gears (that you are moving with your fingers) sounds to me like the fiber clutches are worn. first off you should feel around the inside on the bottom of the housing for peices for metal. usually the "ears" come off the clutches. if you do decide to re bulid it there is a way to remove one steel disk from either side and install one extra fiber disk. ford sells the re-build kit. chris

I had no metal in the bottom of my housing. How easy is it to rebuild? or should i have someone do it? Also, I got a set of SN 95 axles with the ABS gear, does that come off? will it affect anything if i leave it on, i am almost done with my five lug conversion.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford...018166769QQcategoryZ33731QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Do i also need to buy a master bearing rebuild kit, or will my mechanic be able to pull out my trac lock, rebuild it and put it back in?
