I Need Help With Rings On 85 Block Bored .40

Here is the situation. I am rebuilding my nephews 91 5.0 LX because of a low oil pressure issue. Long story short it appears the previous owner replaced the motor with a 1985 remanufactured (found sticker on side)5.0 HO (E5AE C38 block)roller short block and used his old e7 heads without rebuilding the heads. The valve stem seals completely fell apart to nothing and got into the oil pan clogging the oil pump and oil pick up. The pistons are .040 enginetech pistons(see photo). The cylinder walls are all still within spec so I plan to just hone and want to reuse the pistons and just install new rings, bearings,crank, e303 etc. When I look up replacement rings I find rings for either 82-85 or 87-95. Do I need to order 1985 .0 40 rings or are these pistons set up like the 87-95 pistons with the notches in them?? I am confused with this 85 block because I have read about piston/valve clearance when installing upgraded heads.

You neif d to measure the thickness of the rings to see if they are standard or metric and go from there. Can you get any info from the engine rebuilder?

Thank you. Do you know what the measurement woukd be If it were standard?

I contacted enginetech and they set me up with the correct rings I hope. The engine builder was useless for info.
