well I don't "need" it but I'd like it loud. I was at a car show today and someone came in with a 95 Gt and it sounded amazing, almost like flowmaster sound but MUCH louder and aggressive. What exhaust (include headers) should I use??....Keep in mind i MUST have cats so I was going to use some aftermarker H pipe with cats. Whats the best sounding, bad-ass exhaust out there?

It was probably so much more aggresive/loud sounding because it had no cats. The cats muffle the exhaust sound by alot.

well i think car sounds pretty tough and very respectable but not loud loud. ive heard a few foxes that were louder but didnt sound as "good" in my ears. ive heard 99 cobra engine that could pierce your ears at WOT but was more of a shock value over good sounding (pretty scary tho ).

You could try switching to a MAC catback or Dynomax Race Bullet mufflers. One of those two should do the trick.

From the videos and soundclips I have heard, I don't see anything being louder then spintechs. Other then no mufflers.

that sound so gross

if you want your car louder get heads with bigger ports, it will make it louder, thats why if you put the same exhaust on a 5.0 cobra an a 5.0 gt the cobra will be louder cause it has the gt40 heads.

You could always go with the SLP Loudmouth catback or the Magnaflow Magnapack setup. Either should be loud enough to give squirels heart attacks from yards away.

Damn, how loud exactly? I have a Mac long setup with 2 chamber flows. It sounds BADASS but quite at idle or easy only because my motor is stock

My fraternity brother and I were cruising in his 98 at Hampton Beach, NH and we got pulled over for loud exhaust. SLP Loudmouth. Stock everything else, just a Loudmouth catback. I personally don't like the exhaust note, but a lot of people do. And its loooooooooud.

why do you need cats?...you dont have them now, so why should you need them when you replace the mid pipe...i CANT STAND exhausts that are just obnoxiously loud...sound quality is somuch more important than quantity....anything louder than an O/R H and flows will probably get annoying after like a week or 2...

thats why i love mine so much. ive heard "loud" exhausts before on 5.0's and i didnt like them too much. i wish i would setup my remote start button so i could hear mine from afar. hell, i even let my buddy start mine up and drive it around a lil (4th person to ever drive it in 5 years and 2 were cause i was wasted) just so i could hear it. i love it at idle, part throttle and WOT. i couldnt ask for anything better

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I love hearing my car from behind it. It sounds so much louder. I let my friend drive it the other day. I told him to romp on it and I nearly started going into convulsions. I always tell my dad to get on it when he takes it for a spin, and he never does.

Aluminum heads do seem quite a bit louder. Why is this though?

Increased flow, will make things ALOT louder, thats why stock is so quiet

Thats what I figured, but I wasn't sure if the aluminums made a difference cause I put the cam,the LT's and H pipe in/on at the same time as the heads. So it was hard to tell what was making the most difference.
