My check engine light came on, pulled the code p1443 which =

P1443 Evaporative Emission Control System/Vacuum System/Purge Control Solenoid or Purge Control Valve fault.

Anyone know how to fix this????? Any help is appreciated ... thanks guys.

go to the dealer and get a new purge flow solenoid, and erase the code from your PCM, that should fix it

could be the canister, another thing to remember is when you fill up at the gas station, dont top off. when the pump stops pumping, dont keep trying to cram more in because that fills the charcoal canister with liquid gas instead of vapor and freaks out the PCM and shortens the life of the canister.

A search of P1443 on Corral.net will net you many answers; on here too.

90% of the time the code is fixed with a Purge Flow Sensor. I threw the code again 6 months later (after replacing the PFS) and it turned out to be the Purge Flow Valve. The canister is the only other replaceable part in the evap system, and is the least likely and most expensive.

The PCV valve should be top middle of the valve cover on the passenger side.

The PFS? Nope, that's a Ford only part. I think that it's about $15.
