just now gettin around to getting my new 347 up and running and i cant remember where this wire goes. The wire in my hand is from the starter solenoid. i cant remember where it goes. Does it go onto the relay? if so where? or is it a ground?

is that the side where all those wires are bunched up in the second picture on top of the red 4 gauge 3g upgrade wire? the other post just gets the "big" starter wire all by itself? i heard the solenoid clicked when i hooked it up the way you describe when i hooked the battery up. i quickly disconnected. I didnt have the key in the ignition. maybe something is wrong somewhere

One of the wires in that area is the main power ground for the computer. Hook it up to power and there is not telling what could happen. What color is the wire and stripe? The computer main power ground is a large black wire with a green stripe.

hey j. my car is a 93. according to your diagram, my 4 gauge starter should go on the same post as the rest of the wires with the 3g upgrade and my small solenoid wire should go on the other post by itself. Is this correct? thanks
also, im almost positive that the wire is all black

The all black wire is probably a ground from either the computer or the pigtail ground wire from the negative battery cable.

The mini starter power goes to the same stud as the battery and the alternator. Follow the diagram for the 92-93 model Mustangs and you will be good to go.
