OK so i want your guys opinion on this mustang. im a 5.0 guy and that's all ive had. but all my friends have 4.6's and id like to have one. im 16 so im looking for something that has been wrecked and going to fix it myself. and im thinking this one would need a new core support and fender apron welding in? i don't think there would be any straiten out of whats there? im going to go look at it today. and was wondering what you guys think its worth? i was thinking more so 1,500 to 2k?

You can get 99 GT's for like $6000 in decent shape if you look around, I would not spend $2000 on that GT in that condition.

By the time you are done fixing that car, you could have bought one that has never been crashed.

Plus who knows what sort of frame damage is done to it. That was a pretty serious hit. New air bags alone are going to cost you over $1000.

yeah air bags i know...went and looked at it..its alot worse then what the pics show. it wont even crank. and yeah. cant afford 6k at once. was looking for something i could fix up over winter spring and have ready by summer. but this one is way to ruff. you can tell the car has been beat to hell. the rear tires. 100% bald. front perfect. with a new set sitting in the trunk.

pics soon. it looks thought like before. it was a decent looking and running car. but now..oh no..its messed up.

That car is ****ed.

Look for a 99-04 with some miles and a blown motor or tranny. They will be going for cheap and it will be a relativley simple project compared to trying to straighten a wrecked car.

yeah..more messed up then we org. though. i think ill just save my money through winter..then see what i got in early 09 and go from there? maybe fine one with some miles like said. or one that needs painted. ( im good with body work and paint ) so that would be no biggie.

The problem with these cars is that the're uni-body, so with a wreck like that it may never drive straight again. If I was gonna buy it, I'd call a junk yard and ask how much they want for a 4.6 GT motor and maybe add $100 and offer it to the guy.

You could probably get more if you part it out. Sell the interior, rear end, tranny, some of the body pannels, c pillars, side scoops, wheels and tires, window glass, tail lights, the h pipe with cats is worth some money, even the shell could be sold as scrap when your done. All that adds up to a lot more than 1500. But is it worth the hassel? And would your parents mind a junk car sitting in the driveway for days untill you could get it all sold?

i think that 5700 sounds high for that many miles. especially on a 2000

Yea man thats to high priced for that many miles, keep looking around youll find something just have some patience, I was in your situation at once and wanted the first thing i saw, but it was over priced. I ended up finding a 99 true limited edition 35th in excelent shape with only 96k miles for 6 grand. So just take you time man youll find something

Remember, good things come... Well you know the rest. I wanted a stang from the day i was born(thats what my rents always said), and when i got my license they wouldn't let me get one. I had to start off in a jeep then a accord. It wasn't until i was on my own that i got one. Let me tell ya that was the best day of my life almost. Just be happy they are letting you get one. Don't worry things will work out and you'll find something

what would be a fair price for that many miles? like 4,500 or even lower? i saw about 6 months ago a 2001 with 59k on i for 5,500....? seems really really low for that few miles. it was an auto. silver with dark grey leather? i figured that would be worth at least 7,000 to 8,000?

Honestly man i dont know what a resonable price would be, to me more like 2500 3000 at most and thats with a good body. But other people will have there opinions and im pretty new to the car world, but in the case of the 01 it probably had a salvaged title, which always drastcally lowers the price, but you never know that coulda been for real, i would have looked into that more. But man witht the way gas is and stuff, the price of mustangs, trucks, and suvs have went down . Just remember what i said man youll find something just take your time, you dont want to get arse ripped off.
