I need your opinion

I can't decide what to do with my motor. Should I go with the GT-40 crate motor OR go with the trick flow kit from summit. Time to swap won't be an issue since it would be done in the winter. Also I am not looking to do a cheap build but I want it to stay reasonable when I do it since I will be painting the car also. Give me your ideas.

I thought about this the other night before I go out and buy the trickflow kit. I would first do a compression test on your engine and post your consistency/results on these boards. It depends on the condition of your engine which choice you choose. If you want it to stay reasonable you have to realize that the gt40 engine also requires upper and lower intake manifold, both of which you have to buy to get the most out of your engine. So you are looking at 3500+. If your engine is in decent condition keep it and get the trickflow kit imho.

Not much to add except to do ALL the engine work before you do the paint. That will save you from scratches & dings that you sometimes get doing heavy engine work.

Plan on a week or more of driving the car after you get the engine done. This will give time for the bugs to surface and get tuned out. Again, do all this first and save your pretty new paint job from damage.
