I think I lost the battle agaist rust

Last fall when we painted my car there was rust here and there. But I have noticed back in about December seeing little dots on my passenger quarter pannel. I think I has gotten worse and worse because I see these little bubbles. I might just be paranoid, but I'm guessing that very little rust was left behind and it has just grown. Is there anything I can do at this point? Or will I have to sand it back down again and go through two wire brushes to clean out all the rust?

hmm the only thing i could think of is sand them down, i would treat them, dont just put bondo or something on there in a few months it will be right back, well thats how it is here in florida, the humidity is so bad, most older stangs are rusted, and u have to treat them or they will come back, my dad just had his 67 stang sent to the body shop for a complete restoration taking off all the paint and fixing all the rust, the only hting i could think of is sand off the paint and fix it for good before u have to do it again

When we sanded the car back in the fall, I cleaned out the rust-infested area with a wire brush. I put bondo (The one with the hardner seperate) in that area and when we primed the car it looked great. How should I fix it other than that? If I just paint over it you will see the marks where the rust ate it. I don't have access to a plasma cutter or anything like that, so I can't cut it out and put new metal there.

Bondo holds alot of moisture. You should have used a filler that doesnt absorb like the cheap stuff. Thats your problem.

Now , you have so sand down to virgin metal and seal it then use Duraglass or at least todays latest filler thats better than that bondo BS

So you just think it's moisture and not rust?

no hes saying the bondo hold moisture and it will rust agian so use a better filler than bondo

yea u will probaly need some good filler, every time i hear the word bondo i hate it, like i said here in fl the worst thing u can use on metal is bondo

I used it on my hood and it's perfect, no problems. My 1/4 pannel and hood was a small area, so I didn't think it would cause any damage. Guess not, dammit.

Kinda releaved to hear it's the bondo causing the damage, and not something else. I have a "log book" in my car and I'm guessing it was the first owner drive it in Febuary and March in northern Indiana.
I treated my trunk last weekend and I should get to underbody sometime this weekend. My oil pan is all rusted, but not loseing anything. I used truckbed liner and it looks great.
