I want to cut my Eiback Pro-Kit springs?

Does anyone know if I will run into any bad side effects if I cut my pro-kit springs. I want the sportline drop but dont have the money to buy them so I was thinking about cutting mine to get the extra 1/2" drop but I dont want to run into any problems in doing so. How do I measure the coil in order to cut it so The car will sit 1/2" lower?

Do you still have your spring isolators in place? Taking those out will give you around a half inch drop...this would be a better alternative to cutting the springs.

this might sound stupid but what are the isolators?

They are the rubber pieces that go on top and bottom of the spring.

will it hurt anything by removing them and will I need a spring compressor to get the springs out ?sorry for all the questions

I just went out and looked at my car and it does have the isolators still but how does removing them give you that much of a drop, the isolators look real thin?

the top cup is real thick and you cant see it unless the spring is out, and together the top and bottom are about a 1/2" thick

wouldn't that make them noisy and metal on metal rub just ain't good. Couldn't you sell the ones you have and buy the others?

actually I might just wait because I was just offered through an add I had placed too trade my po-kit for his sportlines so Im gunna see what happens with that first.

Unless your gonna cut like 2 coils off it wont be that bad. I have a coil cut off my sportlines and it doesnt ride any worse then it did before
