I need to solve the problem of the supercharger intake being directly over the headers and sucking in all that hot air. I could go to the side and cut into my fenderwell (not sure if it'll fit around the strut tower) or I could go UP!

A functional hoodscoop would draw in cool air from the outside, and I was thinking of a possible secondary benefit.

At higher speeds, would that scoop build up pressure and help force feed the supercharger a little? I know that at 7,000 feet (here in colorado springs) superchargers lose 2-3 lbs of boost. Wouldn't that added ram air pressure bring it right back down to sea level or maybe even lower?

Like I said, I was just thinking, something I try not to do too often if I can help it, so if I'm way out there, smack me back down into reality.

I didn't realize you were 7000 above sea level..sheesh! I'll tell you a story man.

I just visited your part of town. I touched down and the monitor (they are common now on the airplanes seats) said.. 5380 above sea level. Then me and my intern rented a nice caddie! and went to the top of the rockies and we were about 13,000 feet high. THAT IS SONE BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAIN AND EVERYONE SHOULD SEE IT IN THEIR LIFETIME.

Well, my head felt like it was in a microwave and I turned to him after 20 steps and said "hey man, are you outta breath?" Now he is a fatso but yu get my point, he is 18 and I am well not 18. He said yea man I am feeling it. I said good, I guess it is par for the course then.

So a week later I "re-tested" my stamina and I could run around up there no problemo..but cars? well even though they are machines..they just aren't ascomplex as the human body and they DONT adjust.

Bottom line? You are going to lose several RWHP from 7000 feet! That being said, I would try the ram air! Be creative and give it a shot!

Yes living on high altitudes and specially on a N/A car is depressing sometimes, i can barely beat Stock srt4´s at 7234ft , i am sure a KB will cure most of this lack of air up here.

But once i go at sea level , it gets .... well you get the idea

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking of having a shaker hood type of deal. Put the scoop right on top of the intake and cut a hole in my hood (!!!) to clear the scoop. I can keep a filter in there somewhere, but what would I do about water getting in there when it rains? Would it even be enough to worry about?

is there enough room to route the intake tube before the strut tower into the fender( cut the fender a bit), relocate the fuse box to fender. you could also put in an intercooler that would drop intake air temps.
