That is what the car mags do, just like the directions. I would worry about metal chips in the pan, but Vortec would not want your motor blowing chunks before you over boost it.
just remember to load up what ever bit you use to drill the pan with grease, and clean it regularly. it is also best to change the oil before running the engine again.
