I got a roller motor today and the guy said it came out of a truck. I looked for numbers on the block but did not see them. Can you I dentify the year ands specs of the motor by the heads? The heads have never been off of the motor. the intake looks like one off a 94-95 mustang but it is out of a truck. the heads have 4b7 and 4b11 and a large t cast in them under the valve cover. im thinking it is a 94 maybe, let me know the specs( hp, c.r., type of pistons, etc). I will be breaking it down and rebuilding it with more performance parts. He gave me the stock crank, rods and pistons out of his 94 gt block. what was the comp. ratio of these motors? Are the stock 94 gt pistons hypers? Is there somewhere specific to look for the casting numbers besides the starter area?

Thanks
Brad

thats NOT a truck engine.

More likely its a t-bird/cougar/or other 5.0 car engine.

Yes, most/all trucks came with the e7 heads, their intakes look NOTHING like what comes on the stangs... just fyi.

does anyone know the hp, comp ratio and so on for these motors? I have a crank, rods and pistons out of a 94 gt, so im guessing these would be better if i went back stock?

Not entirely sure because we dont know exactly what year/model that motor came from. but for some reference here are that stats from a 1992 v8 thunderbird.

200hp @ 4000rpms
275tw @ 3000rpms

fuel mileage 17/24

Considering its very very similar stats of the 92 stang 5.0l I would venture to say its close to the stock mustang compressions with the intake/exhaust differences making the HP a little less... thats just my educated guess working here though.

i was reading and found where H.O. motors had 19 lb injectors (orange) and non-H.O. had grey injectors (Gray). the motor I got has orange so I guess it is a H.O.

I've seen mustang motors with black injectors. They're not always orange
