idle problems

I have a 96 gt automatic and the idle is getting really annoying. At a stop the car shakes alot. I have to put it in park to make it stop shaking. It's even worse if the ac or heater is running. It's the worst when the car is cold though. Another thing I've noticed is that it takes a little while to start. I have to crank it for a while before it starts. The longest I counted one time was 7 seconds. Lastly, but most annoying is the whirring noise coming from the engine. It gets louder as the rpms go up. Someone told me it might be the belt. I changed the belt, replaced a bad pulley and checked the restof the pulleys. Noise is still present. Anyone have any suggestions to any of these. Might they be related? Thanx.

Do you have a Cold Air Intake or any after market stuff done to the stang??? I know I have a MAC CAI and it did cause minor idle problems.

check for something cracked or leaks from the MAF to throttle body. check all vacume lines real well.

Yes actually I do have a fipk2. The bad idling started a few months ago though and ive had the kit on since june. I checked all the vacuum lines and everything seems fine. checked for cracks and leaks form maf to throttle body and all seems normal there too.
