Hey guys,
I'm trying to hook up a new distributor/coil setup on my 68 Mustang. Anyhow it says to tie into the ignition wire. Is this wire located in the engine compartment or do I have to tie into one of the wires in passenger compartment? Thanks, I feel like an idiot for asking this but I don't want to go splicing into my wiring harness everywhere.

depends on what car you have, and if you need 12 volts or a resistor wire.

It is a Mallory ignition and comes with its own resistor that you place between the ignition wire and the Promaster coil. My car is a 302 powered 68 convertible.

Your ignition wire is the wire that went to the + terminal of your old coil.

I believe in a 68 this is already run through a ballast resistor, so you won't need the one they provided. Wait for the other members to verify that tho...

I can vouch for that as well. The resistor is somewhere between the ignition switch and the 3 wire harness at the firewall.
