5.0 ignition wiring help

Hello,
My nephew and I are working on his new 85 GT and we can't seem to get any spark. Everything else seems to be working fine: fuel pump, coil, etc. The eight-pin wire harness for the ignition has some broken wires; it is old, cracking, but has

specific color coating on them. Does anyone know how to identify these eight wires there seems to be two that were broke off

Well......the one wire I see that's cut is red with a yellow tracer, which is probably some sort of power wire. You need one of these..............
