ok man im so fed up with this ***** i need HELP PLZ!
I just got my tko 600 in the car with all the others to go along with it wen't together like magic no problems at all.
Untill this bull*****.
Car goes into gears fine alls well.When I take off it grinds and whole car shakes to where almost wants to fall apart.i took it down the alley and its fine once rolling but no chance when taking off.Don't have much more to tell you then that.I'm so mad i just just closed garage after a small kick to the tire.If this gain s somones interest ill be on all night i really really need help!!!PLEASE

Sounds like a clutch engagement issue. New clutch I'm assuming, right?

Without seeing it happen, I can really only speculate, but it does sound like clutch chatter. I'm not too familiar with the Spec clutches, rather the levels like which stage does what, but I've heard that some aftermarket clutches can have poor street manners. I hope someone else will chime in with Spec experience. OT, where in Chicagoland are you at? I'm by Joliet, so I could possibly take a look at it for ya?

Im right by midway airport.its a stage 1(nothin big).ya man if anyone around close that knows what can be happinin your free to get your as s's here.it does feel clutch associated i had the back up on stands before trying to drive it and it sounded a lil rough throught the drivtrain.....

hey it cant be the alignment of the clutch since tranny prob wouldn't go in correct?

Since it's a new clutch, I'd probably take it for a little cruise around the neighborhood and let it start to wear in some to see if that helps any. New clutches can be a bit temperamental at times, but once you're rolling, they don't tend to chatter because they're able to engage quicker with less friction. If it doesn't get any better and you're running out of ideas, I'd be happy to take a peek at it and see what, if anything I can do to give another fresh set of eyes a chance to see if anything looks out of place. There wasn't any sort of contamination to the pressure plate or disk that you're aware of, right?

Edit: I saw your reply after I posted. If you were able to get the input shaft into the disk, it's aligned, so I wouldn't think that'd be an issue.

no i made sure it was all clean with brake cleaner as for the press plate and flywheel goes.Its not the trans right?i bought the thing new("NEW").i had a couple other new clutches in other cars never had anything like this happen.And this is alot of new shi t thats been put in it sounds like grinding and binding.Man im so upset with this......

I'll be here all night. I work midnights, these are my normal hours to be awake. How were all your torque specs? Just out of curiosity, not saying you did anything wrong, just want to look at it from all areas, to make sure you're covered and something didn't get missed.

i actually didn't use torque wrench....i kick myself for that.Do you think thats the problem?everything is super tight tho...

Yep, that could very well be the problem. Pressure plate could be semi-warped, so the disk isn't engaging smoothly. Pressure plate bolts should be torqued from 12-24 lb-ft

I think you answered your own question by not using the torque wrench though... I know you don't wanna pull the trans back out and it may wear in and stop chattering, but that's the right way to do it. It might take some life out of your clutch leaving it be as it is now.

did you install a new flywheel and/or have it resurfaced? the spec clutch was installed with a new pressure plate...and what type of fluid did you use- GM synchromesh. did you use a spacer with the driveshaft? what did you use to line up tranny mount? i bought a tranny mount relocator for my tko500.

Take it back apart and look at EVERYTHING. Drop the tranny, remove the pressure plate and flywheel. Inspect the drive shaft bearings and Yoke. Ensure that the alignment pins are in the correct places. Is your flywheel new or resurfaced? It should be one of those.

Check the throwout bearing and tranny snout bearing. shake rattle and roll all attaching pieces.
