I am the proud new owner of a 2008 GT Alloy 5speed stick as of last Friday. Car has GT appearance group, painted fan blades, and an interior upgrade. Pretty basic car. Just the way I want it! It will be my new daily driver as soon as I finish my degree in December. No way I'm going to let a college campus give it a head start on door dings. Next time I head home I will snap a few pics. Anyway, just wanted to say hi!

Congratulations. I also have an Alloy 08. Very similar car. It's an awesome color, just hard to keep clean, but you'll love it.

Congrats on the purchase
If I could've gotten an '07 instead of the '06 it would've been Alloy.
I've seen stangdude2000's Alloy GT with the painted fanblades and looks really good

Next time I am home I will snap a few pics and post up here.

Yes I'm keeping the 95. I figured I had too much money invested in it to trade it off. It will more or less become a track car in street trim clothing.

I'm not sure yet if I will mod this 08 or not. I thought about maybe an axle back, cold air, shifter, a tune and call it a day. I don't want to kill the 30 mpg @ 55mph so I'll try to keep this one calm.

yeah I know things like exhaust and intake help. I was thinking things like heads and supercharger would hurt a bit.

As I'm sure you know, once you start..... its over.

I've managed to cut my losses at an axle back so far. I almost pulled the trigger for a shaker hood, but backed out last minute as I already called my buddy that works for SLP for some LT headers... Then I found myself looking at intake/tunes... and next thing I know, I would've been out almost $3k. In one day. I'm saving up instead for either the next special edition mustang (PLEASE be a Boss 302) or a vette...

I have relatives in West Knox and get down there about once a year for a visit. I like that area quite a bit!
There is also a guy in my Mustang Club that lives in that same general area.

Welcome aboard!! I beg to differ but I think your car is a quite a bit more than basic. The appearance group and IUP make it quite a car. Love the painted fanblades. If you do any parallel parking, beware of the curb rash and/or have your next set of tires with rim guard.

If you are ever in the area on a Friday night, need to come down to Maryville to the cruise in spot behind Sears at the Foothills Mall. If weather is good, it has a real nice turnout. I'm usually there when i am home on a friday.

I got a nasty door ding the day after I got my Mustang. Paint chipped off and its noticable.

What do you mean by painted fan blades?

Painted fanblades are the premium 18" wheels. The spokes are large so it sorta looks like a fan with 5 blades. The edges of the spokes are raised and the inner portion is painted dark gray, or something like that. On earlier models, the inner portion is not painted.

I'm not sure if the rest of the wheel is a painted darker gray or whether its machined.

Thanks for the invite
I will try and make it down there this fall perhaps...usually during a UT home game weekend...not the best time, but I love the atmosphere it brings
