in my '88 gt, when i seem to get on it, my clutch gets spongy and the clutch lets out way at the bottom, as opposed to when it usually lets out towards the middle to top...maybe because it gets hot, but i really have no idea...i know all you guys on here know what the problem is...thanks

Do you smell anything burning? Do the revs seem to climb faster than the car moves forward (clutch slippage)?

Good luck and bump.

What kind of clutch is in it right now? Do you have an adjustable cable, firewall adjuster, quadrant? What kind of flywheel do you have? Does it feel like its slipping?

It sounds like the cable. My 89 did that to me, word for word. the stock one only adjusts so far. i bought a Zoom cable from Advanced Auto parts. it replaces the plastic hardware above the gas petal and is adjustable from the fulcrum sticking out of the transmition. Alot of other guys go with the firewall adjuster. but the alluminum treads will get striped by the steel firewall. Although it is kind of a pain to crawl under the car to adjust it.

I also concur with the option of purchasing an adjustable clutch cable.
