I'm tired of this project already....please help..........PLEASE?

Alright, I have been trying to find an 88-93 MAF pigtail with the oval connector to match up with the 75mm Pro-M MAF that I ordered a week ago.

My '87 Mustand has an 8LD computer which is out of a CA Mustang 88-93, so it has a rectangle connector at the end of the pigtail that comes from the computer. However, the pigtail adapter ON the MAF I received has an oval receptor at the end of it. MY rectangle pigtail (from the computer) doesn't match the oval pigtail ON the new MAF. At the same time, MY connector won't match directly on to the MAF itself once I remove the little oval pigtail adapter that came with it.

So my only option is to start soldering.

Here's my theory:

Go to a junkyard and pull an oval pigtail off of an 88-93 Mustang and then solder it onto the existing pigtail on my Mustang which will then plug into the little oval adapter that runs from my new MAF.

Anyway, NO junkyard I've called carries ANY fox body Mustangs, so here's my question...........

Other than the 88-93 Mustang, IS there ANY other car that Ford made that has the SAME oval pigtail that I will be able to use that will match up to the oval adapter on my new mass air flow?

im lost a little. You say you have the standard connector thats on the 88-93 in your car and the maf you received (pro m) has the wrong connector. I vote send it back and get the proper year maf sensor

you need the A9L computer and the MAF you need will have to come out of an 89 -93 mustang 5.0 - actually i believe some of the later 88's had the maf too, but just be safe n look for an 89 - 93 one - oh n there is a conversion kit - im not really sure what your trying to do, but initially your 87 was a speed density car, and if your trying to make it Mass Air, you should start from scratch and get the A9L computer, the conversion harness, and the MAF you need and that might save you a few headaches, but again, im not fully sure what you are trying to do

A Pro-M 75 Bullit mass air has a 6-pin connector on it like the SN-95 Mustangs . They should have given you adapter plug to make your stock 4-pin work. Get the adapter or grind the stock plug flat to fit in the MAF.

Ok...here's what's going on.

As I was saying in a previous thread, I bought this car as is from a dude up in Chicago. HE converted this beast to mass air. However, instead of using the A9L computer, he used the 8LD computer.

The 8LD computer is from a CA Mustang 88-93. The connector on the wire from my 8LD computer is a small rectangle connector. The ACTUAL connector ON the new mass air is a "BIGGER" rectangle than the one on my computer wire so it doesn't quite match up.

NOW, when I received the new mass air it CAME with a little 8" pigtail that converts the bigger rectangle down to a small oval connector. In any event, I don't have an oval connector on my computer wire (pigtail). I have a smaller rectangle connector.

My question is, how many cars did Ford make that ran an oval connector from the computer to the mass air flow sensor? I need to find one and then splice it on to MY computer wire so that I can plug it into the oval adapter on my new mass air flow.

The site I listed has all the MAF pigtails. One of them will fit your needs.

See http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=7 for help on the right way to splice the new pigtail onto your existing wiring harness.

any 5.0 from 89-95 will have the right one, t-birds, maybe even others. Just start looking, I don't know why yours is different even though it a cal car. I know someone with a 88GT thats a Cal. car with MAF factory and it has a factory ovel connector. it just werid in my book.

i was at the junk yard a couple days ago to get the eec-iv pins i needed to do my maf conversion and i got a couple oval maf pigtails, just to have them. i pulled one off an early super coupe, and a few from a couple 4 cyl mustangs. ford rangers have the same connector too.
