Inertia Switch questions?

I am mounting a Ford inertia switch and wonder if anyone has one installed who could help with the wiring? And is it supposed to be mounted with the button on top or "sideways"?

The Button should be oriented up. The wiring is simple, the switch is designed to interrupt the fuel pump circuit and you can do that several ways. You can put it in either of the wires going to the fuel pump but I prefer to wire it so it turns off the relay. Ford puts it directly in the pink wire going to the fuel pump.

It's best to wire it up the way the factory did: In the power line to the pump.

Either way should kill the power going to the pump. However if you wire it inline with the pump (like the factory did) you know the circuit will be broken if the switch trips. If you only break the relay signal either a malfunctioning relay or shorted signal circuit will still provide the pump with 12V.
