I'm looking for a write up on the installation of 4 springs. I found three of them here and all links are dead.

EXAMPLE

So does anyone have a write up or a link to the instructions?

i have a link to a write up, but it is at my home computer.

its pretty straight fwd....

jack up the car, put on jack stands
Take wheels off

For the rear...let the rearend hang.
I would remove the brake line brackets (10mm)
Wiggle the rearend a bit and pull out the spring
Replace with new spring
replace brake line bracket
done.

Front:

remove your sway bar end link (18mm wrench and an 8mm wrench)
Remove brake line bracket from body (10mm)
support lower control arm with jack
(I used a bungee cord on one of my wheel studs to the body so the spindle didnt move)
remove brake line on strut (10mm)
remove plastic clip on strut (pliers)
remove strut to spindle bolts (18mm) - have fun, they are torqued to 148ftlbs
remove 4 bolts from top of strut tower....strut and spring come out as a unit
compress spring with spring compressor (autozone rental)
remove strut nut (7/8" (I think)
Pull off strut cap (this is a two piece unit...pull off in ONE piece or you will have ball bearings all over!!!)
Place new spring on strut
Place strut cap on spring
have someone compress the new spring with his hands
install strut nut

reinstall in opposite order of removal'

The only item you might have a problem torqing down to proper spec is the sway bar end link to strut.

Once the car is back on the ground....torque the 4 studs in the strut tower. A tip if you are working by yourself....to get the strut and spring back in, place it on the control arm and jack up the control arm until the cap studs go through the strut tower.

I just did this for the first time on two mustangs in the past two weeks. The first car we had 3 guys working on and wheels up to wheels down took 2.5 hours.
