I just installed a JLT cold air intake. It was a very straight forward install. Tuned with my SCT Touch Screen Xtreme. There is a notable increase in sound at WOT. Hey, it runs good, sounds good, so I'd say it's a solid setup. Can't really notice an increase in power, but I guess that's to be expected for a CAI. Just wanted to give my experience and opinion. Monday the JBA longtubes, midpipe, and catback go on. I think this is the first time I said that I can't wait for Monday.

You put on a JLT and didn't feel any power then the tune isn't right.

Is the canned tune in the SCT not very good? What do you recommend?

If that is the only mod then an email tune from one of the sponsors here would be a good idea, I'm sure plenty of people with chime in eventually.

Definitely get an e-mail tune from a reputable 'Stang shop. Brenspeed, Tillman's, .... I could go on.

So I can tell you what I installed and get a better tune than the SCT tunes? What is adjusted in a tune for bolt ons anyways? I'm only familiar with tweaking fuel tables for WOT from my friends and I've never tried it myself.

You tweak fuel maps, cam timing and ignition timing curves

The e-mail tuners tweak/test their tunes on their dynos. They have tunes written for just about every engine tweak that's out there to be had.

What does an email tune cost? Will I still be able to adjust fuel at wot after installing that tune?

An email tune usually costs around $50-75.

Asking who has the best tunes is kinda like asking what wheel looks best on a 'Stang.

some tuners are better with automatics, so take that into consideration.

Can't say who is best.. but I have had tunes from Brenspeed (what i'm running now) BAMA and my friend uses Tillman.. In my personal experience they are all good, I have had no issues with ANY of them. I am using ONLY BRENSPEED now, and have seen huge gains before and after the blower using tunes they have made for me. And like was said A JLT CAI AND A GOOD TUNE IS A HUGE NOTICABLE DIFFERENCE!! This isn't a 3 RWHP gain..lol... U can expect an EASY 30 RWHP WITH A JLT CAI AND GOOD QUALITY TUNE! And, also, IMHO if you get a good tune from one of the big names, you wont want to mess with anything in the tune (except tire size, gears, etc.) but they pretty much pull out all the stop and there isn't even much more power to be found AT ALL after you get a tune from them. Just my .02 cents...

Got the headers and exhaust installed! It sounds perfect. Loud when you want it to be but quiet at highway speeds. Saturday it goes on the dyno. I'll post the results.

Chris Rose does not do email tunes for Tillman's anymore since he's working for American Muscle now.

There's a lot more to it than just that.

You said you have the SCT right? Who did you buy it from, American Muscle? I just bought an SCT/SF3 tuner from AM and I get free tunes for life. If you want an amazing tune for your car, I recommend getting a tune from Chris Rose at Bama/AM he did my 93 Race tune and added my new C&L Racer CAI into the tune and HOLY CRAP my car is a complete beast now, my car goes sideways a little now when it hits second gear and chirps when it hits third now at WOT, Chris Rose can write you up an Amazing tune for your mods, and if you bought your tuner from AM recently, you should be a "free tunes for life" member.

Best of luck!!
