Picked up a used UPR shifter and knob from a guy at work for $100. Put it in today and all I can say is I should have done it years ago!

This is a great mod!

I've had my Blu Thunder in two different cars since I bought it almost 4 years ago. It's worth every bit of the $125 I paid for it

I'm doing my triax tomorrow. It looks like a pretty easy install according to the tech artical at mustangworld.com. Any helpful tips?

The only problem I had was getting the first rubber boot out. I had to put a screwdriver in the holes of the metal ring to pry it loose. Get some RTV and something to take off the old gasket. Need a 13mm and 5/16 sockets.

The stock shifter will look flimsy compaired to the one your putting in.

The shifter does sort-of have a notchy feel but I think the stock one would do the same without the rubber bushing.

I like the notchy feel, makes it feel more like a race car.

i had the tri-ax and was very pleased with it. very easy installation, taking into consideration that i had never done it before.

recommendation: use silicone to make it seal a lot better.

tip: use gloves for first couple days or your hand will hurt, at least mine did

Is there a gasket in between where the bottom of the shifter meets the top of the transmission or is there just silicone?

Mine was just black silicone and I used putty knife and my finger nail to get it off.

Just installed my Triax. Wasnt too hard. The hardest part for me was getting the darned stock shifter to break free of the tranny. I thought I was going to pull the transmission through the floor board!!! Everything else was very easy. Now i'm just waiting for the silicone to dry for an hour or so so that I can take it out. It does seem to go into all of the gears a lot easier.

WOW! No wonder people get these things! It makes it almost effortless to shift! Very nice! While I was waiting for the silicone to dry a bit, I decided I'd check the timing just to see where it was since I just got the car Monday. Yeah, it was at like 4 degrees. I went ahead and changed it to 14 degrees. Now it pulls a LOT harder and shifts so smoothly.
