I'm installing a Brothers speedcal on my car. I'm having problems finding the vss wire harness. Is it on the drivers side of the transmission? I found what i think is the the vss wire harness but it's a six wire connection. The speed cal has a four wire harness plus 3 other wires outside of the harness. I'm confused about this. Does anyone have any sugestions. Thanks Pearl.

Visit Dallas Mustang's website, probably dallasmustang.com and click on speedcal and there should be an instruction/HOW TO INSTALL page with pictures to go along with it.
I've done that. I've had them on the phone also. The tech support peolple are gone and I have a salesman helping me. I still can't find the vss wire harness. Pearl02

It's too bad you should have got a DM speedcal.
Don't blame us in the future if something go wrong
with it and it doesn't work right.Brothers Performance
got a bad batch of speedcals if you people don't know.

I'm not looking to blame you are anyone here. All I'm looking for is a little help.
I will return the speedcal if i have to. If I'd known about problems with this speed cal I wouldn't have gotten. I don't need to be scolded by you. :nono: If you can't help me then stay out of it. Sorry guys, I shouldn't have to defend myself here. I'm looking for some positive input here. And for the record Penny, it is a DM Speedcal. I bought it thru Brothers.

I have had zero problems with my Brothers speed cal. They are 10 bucks cheaper than DM. You guys claiming the Brothers ones suck obviously weren't around last year when there were about 30 threads with DM speedcal people having problems.

Anywho, the VSS is up on the top of the tranny sort of on the drivers side. It's sort of back by where the rear o2 sensor wiring harnesses go.

No, I am not scolding you I am only trying to tell you that the Brothers
Performance speedcal's have been known to break and not work correctly.
Also the Brothers Performance speedcal's and the Dallas Mustang speedcal's
are made by two totaly different people.I know the guy that makes the speedcal's for Dallas Mustang and he informed me about the issues people
were having with the Brothers Performance speedcal's and I am only trying
to help you.The Dallas Mustang speedcal's are designed better and not alot
of people have had problems with them.Good luck though.

Do a search for speedcal, and you'll find several threads about people having probs with them. Just saying.

I got it working guys. I made this job much harder than it had to be. The only problem I had was routing the wire harness from the speed cal. I had some problems getting my shifter boot cover back on. At first it didn't work until I found my cig lighter fuse blown. I think the previous owner my have tried to plug a cell phone or something else into the cig lighter. I don't smoke so I never knew the fuse was blown. It's working good now. Thanks for the help.
