Hey guys. I know a BUNCH of you recently installed your mongoose kits. Got any tips for me and my buddy to watch out for when doing this install? I already have my tap for the pan and the rest SHOULD be simple bolts.

Got any tips for the PITA belt that I hear of?

We are hoping to start it tonight around 8ish and be done with her by 3pm Saturday afternoon.

Thanks in advance fellas!

Will do! I've had the kit sitting in my garage for a month. It's been killing me!

I was told I got a package yesterday but I haven't been home since Wed. I'll assume it came in safe and sound!

Thanks again bud!

Attention to the small things will save you a lot of trouble.

Good luck, I hear the mongoose kits are awsome.

Best advice I can give you is this....brass is a very soft material and will snap if you over tighten the oil feed fittings. I ended up snapping off the fitting to the oil sending unit (from earlier post) and now I ended up snapping the oil feed nozzle to the supercharger unit itself. An easy out tool is my best friend! A replacement nozzle costs nearly $60 from Vortech, and its a custom piece that you can't buy off the shelf from home depot. Everything else has been a breeze to do.

I should be done tonight with the install if I don't F-up something again with the oil feed line!

Best of luck and be sure to post pics/dyno numbers when finished!

Sweet, we oughtta have our own little space for the Mongoose installers forum!
Here is a good piece of advice, spend a little coin and find a local shop that will install the oil fittings for you!
I'm payin an hours labor to have a speed shop for me, later this afternoon. After hearing a couple of oops stories I decided it was money well spent.
Called UPS and 1 package is delivering today, and the other tomorrow, so WOOT WOOT!!

That's good advice but I have complete confidence in my friend who's doing the install. I have punches on hand and the tap with the handle all ready to go. DIY baby!

From what I've heard, everyone is just scared of doing it but after tackling it they always say it's cake if done with care.

And yea, I feel like Stangnet has more "mongoose" discussion than MPH's Mongoose specific forum.
