Alright, this is my plan. I'm gonna run a wire from the clutch safety switch so that when the clutch is depressed, the wire goes "hot." The wire will then run into a push button that I'm going to mount in the ash tray compartment console. From the button a wire will run through a 12V Zener diode and be spliced into the starter solenoid. Basically, I'll get in the car, depress the clutch, turn the key one click up, then press the pushbutton to activate the solenoid and crank the starter.
My questions are:
Does anyone think this won't work, and why not?
Can I get at the clutch safety switch from the top or do I have to jack up the car, and where the heck is the damn thing?
I realize that when you crank the starter via the normal ignition, it shuts off all the accessories to take it easy on the battery. If I wire it up as I mentioned, the accessories would still be on when the battery turns the starter. I'm concerned that all the accessories plus cranking it might be too much for the battery. Do you think this would impact the starting in any way?
thanks for your help!
