Nope, but remember that there's a greater risk of bending a shift fork without them.

You can leave them off but it defeats half the purpose of the shifter. They are what prevent over shifting and bending/breaking shift forks.

You don't need to install them. The TR3650 in your 02 has internal stops. With the stops in you have a greater chance of undershifting and grinding and bad stuff, take out the stops completely.

if you put the stops in just make sure they are in right. the 3650 already has them, so you dont really need them. mine are in for 3 yrs. and are fine.

unless that grind in second that i thought was just the normal 3650 grind is really the tri ax stops

+1 for no stops; I took them out of my Tri-Ax. I left the stops in when I had the T45 though.

If you were to call tremec they will tell you to not use the stops. thier trannies have internal stops. even the t-45 I do belive. I used the stops when I installed mine hurst as I did not read any directions and know how to ajust stops. I have never had any issues.

That being said if ajusted correctly and secured they are no harm they are just redundant. Tremec's advice is if the shifters stop are not ajusted poperly you can damage the tranny and since there are internal stops you don't need them.
