I'v always heard installing wtrans is easier but in the manuals I have looked at it says on the 5.0 gt (1991) that install is seperate. Any advice? thankyou

If you have a load-leveling hoist and the ability to get the front end of the car nice and high in the air with the back wheels on the ground, it saves a lot of time and effort to put them in together.

Either empty your trans fluid or get a tail shaft plug or the fluid will spill out once you start tilting the assembly. I did this by myself real easy.

I did make a "balance bar" I call it and have it attatched to the provided brackets I was planning on attatching my electric hoist to the lift point on the trans (pas side closer to the rear) and using that to control the tilt. Trans is empty but engine is full

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

Agreed. Unless you have a lift and trans jack, installing the two as one unit is far easier.

it went bitchen except that the front was up a tad to mucc that it just didn't clear by about 1\2 inchish or so which led to a lot of fun manipulating the whole assembly to and fro then aft and all over again several times
