instrument panel lights

the instrument panel lights on my 68 mustang won't come on the only light that comes on is the high beam light and when i change to low beam none of the light come on also the alternator guage is not working. i have already replaced the instrument panel voltage regulator and the voltage regulator,headlight switch,low\high beam changer.any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not to be a smart-a$$ but did you check the fuse?

If your bright light indicator works you have a good ground to the bezel case. If you have a multimeter or test light, check for juice at the fuse block (mine is blue-red wire). If you have 12V on one side of the fuse and not the other, it's the fuse. If you have 12V on both sides, check at the light socket. If no juice there then it is the wire between the fuse block and dash bezel.

If no juice on either side of the fuse, then it is either the light switch or the power feed to the switch. Assuming your headlights work, I would start at the fuse block.

Frank
