is there a height difference between the performer and performer RPM (non air gap) manifold? i have low clearence as it is and if its any taller then i'd have a problem.

Look it up on Edelbrocks website. They have the dimensions there. Pretty sure the RPM is about 1" taller.

guess it looks like i will be staying with the little ole performer.

You can always go to a low profile aircleaner base to compensate. I don't see why you have a problem with clearance unless you've got a really tall filter.

Yes, i am afraid of teh same thing, if i have a stock 302 in a 68 coupe witha RPM intake and a 1406 CArb will i clear the hood?

well i have several things going against me. jacke dup mounts to accomadate for headers, and my hood scoop has bolts through the hood thats 10 foot long.

Well on my 67 with the 390 and later the 427, it all fit under the hood. 390 and 427 with the MR427 intake, Holley carb and 289 Hi-po aircleaner with about a 2-1/2" tall filter. Later had the Low riser dual 4's with Holley 600's and the factory cast aluminum aircleaner and 2" filter. Only when I decided to stack 2 filters on that did I cut the hood.
