I haven't done this before and I'm replacing the inatke manifold gasket. The new gasket (Felpro) has ridges around each of the holes. Do the the ridges face the manifold or the heads? Thanks.

If by "ridges" you mean the blue silicone rings, they go towards the intake manifold. (The gaskets do specify which side goes toward the head if you look at them).

Use edelbrock gaskacinch or permatex high tack on the head side, it will seal the gasket and keep it aligned while you place the intake.

Make sure you coat the water passages with pleanty of silicon, and ditch the front and rear seal for a thick bead of silicon. Here is a more in dept description http://www.mustangsteve.com/intake.html. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. Great pics on the web page. This is the gasket I'm using, it doesn't indicate anywhere, I assume that the side with the dark, blue stripes goes towards the manifold?
