Hello everyone, my name is Brad and in located in the southern NH area. The car is a 1990 medium cabernet lx convertible fox 5.0 with a 5 speed. I've had the car for about a year and a half and it's been a great car especially considering i picked it up fairly cheap ($1,300). I picked the car up from the third owner and it seems like each owner kept pretty good records of the cars history.
The car is in really good shape, minimal to no rust and some basic mods (BBK header, H pipe and intake, MSD distributor and ignition, Violator muffler, sub frame connectors and some Cobra reps). The interior is all there, except someone along the line removed the door pockets. This car was definitely taken care of and was/is a good base for a project.
Anyway, now to my issues lol. I pretty much daily drove the fox on every nice day until the fuel pump went out. I let the car sit for a couple months before I was able to get around to replacing the pump. While i was in there i upgraded the pump to a Walbro 155 and also changed the bracket, sending unit, lock ring and gaskets. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to change. All things considered i was done in about 2hrs time, not bad for my first fox fuel pump.
After changing the pump, I'm unable to get the car to fire up. I double check lines coming off of the pump and they are on the right way. The fuel pump primes and i'm getting a solid 40pds on the fuel rail, I also check and i have spark coming off of the ignition coil and on each cylinder on the top on the distributor. Timing was checked and it was perfect. The plugs looked great and the gap was right on. I'm just at a loss, and i pretty sure i burned out the starter solenoid trying to start the car this Sunday.
A couple other things to note is i don't smell any fuel while i'm trying to start the car which is weird to me. When i got the car to turn over there wasn't even a sputter or a rumble like it wanted to start. Any help would be appreciated and thanks for having me on the forum.
