is 03/04 cobra block the same as 99

hi i have 99 cobra i had my motor go out i was wondering ig 03/04 cobra block would bolt right if my trany would be bolt up to it thank u for your time

No - 03/04 is cast iron while the 99 is aluminum teksid. But, yes, it should bolt up. You will have to use your timing cover, though. It's quite a bit heavier than the 99, too.

If you are thinking of a short block, the pistons on the 03/04 are lower compression, although rods and pistions are forged. Personally, I would stay with your teksid block as they are very strong and desirable.

Why not rebuild yours?? It's going to be costly one way or another.

I now run the 2003 block.

Since I have dropped the IRS ( near 100 Lbs or so lighter) the extra weight of the block is cool with me.

I have blow a few Alum blocks in my days, she is alsp bored .020...So Iron is good. JMS
