I want to get rid of the Egr valve on my car. Its basically on there for looks anyways. I have no smog pump, no smog pipes on the back of the heads. What i want to do is just put a delete plate on the egr spacer and be done with it. Can i just take the sensor out and leave it plugged in to avoid a check engine light? This wont affect power or anything will it???

Egr is not related to the smog equipment you already removed. It improves cruising fuel economy with no impact on power. You are better off leaving it alone unless you yank the intake, block the egr ports at the heads and tune out the egr function. There is nothing to gain by removing it.

The reason for removing is cosmetic. Everything in my engine bay is polished, even the egr valve, but the egr valve is steel and it rusts like crazy, looks horrible and I cant keep up with it!!

You can buy an egr simulator to plug into the old egr connector.
Does it work? Who knows to be honest, i used one for years, but as soon as i did the block off plate i put it on, so i don't know if the car would of had codes without it.
