just curious. also, what rpm is maximum torque on a fairly mild 5.0, just a good guess. i know a dyno would be great, but i've never been to one. so if anyone has the numbers on their car, that would help. i have stock everything except what's in the sig.
I'm not for certain but I would say anywhere between 3,500-4,500.. But if you wanna know when to shift, shift when you feel the car stop pulling, and know what rpm it is.. This is when an adjustable shift light comes in handy
You need to base your shift point on your torque and HP peaks but you have to do calculations based on your transmissions gear spreads. In my 88 GT 5spd 3:35 T5 car with ported intake and catbacks as only mods and based on my dyno, My best shift points are 6,000 rpm 1-2, 5,400 rpm 2-3, 5,200 rpm 3-4. What gear you carry to the end of the quarter will also affect rpm shift points. With my 3:08s I can choose 3rd or 4th. The above numbers are for trapping in 4th.
