I recently did just the opposite swap. I installed a V6 Pony Grille/Lights in my 07 GT. Gave my GT Grille/Lights to a buddy with the V6 Pony and helped him install them in his car. He had a "take-off" GT front bumper cover to replace his V6 bumper cover, so the swap was easy. Otherwise, the factory GT grille is too big to fit the V6 bumper cover opening.
Getting the V6 setup in my GT was easier as I used thick black rubber weather seal to take up the space around the smaller V6 grille and I custom fabricated my own mounting brackets as the factory mounting tabs are in different spots for the V6 and GT.
Sounds like some of you are referring to aftermarket grilles that are avaiable to make the swap more easily.
Lastly, as my friends V6 already had the Pony Package with the foglights, we did absolutely zero wiring. The wiring for the Pony lights and my GT lights were absolutely identical, and the factory fog light switches worked perfectly in both cars after the swap.
Did you notice the depth of the pony package lights compared to the gt lights? Were they deeper? I've been looking to getting a set to integrate them behind my shelby grill. The GT fogs are too deep to use.
I am talking about a GT grill into a V6. No problem to do.
