I am still having issues deciding which mid-pipe I want (I really want a Magnaflow catted X, but there are other things I want to do on the car while I have money). Because the price of the o/r MAC h-pipe, I am leaning to it. Anyways, is it really worth upgrading to a aftermarket o/r H-pipe, such as MAC? Or would it not really do much? What type of gains could I see on my 02 GT?

Thanks for the help!

Do you have any other mods? If you're keeping the stock mufflers, the H will sound better than the X, IMO, of course! You will gain HP with the O/R H, but it will be higher in the RPM range, so it might FEEL like it loses a little on the bottom end.

Get a VRS O/R X...its a true X design and sounds AWSOME, just like my Dr gAs. Most people who hate Xs heard non true X designs...they sound BAD. True Xs flow better than Hs and give more power...The magnflow is also a true X design, but im not too sure about their price vs the VRS. Dr gas needs to be welded, so im sure you dont want to do that.

My website has some clips with my o/r H if interested. Keep in mind though they aren't stock mufflers.

The O/R H sounds great in my opinion.. I have 40 series flows on mine along with it. I got the "coated" version for an extra 15 or 20 bucks from Brenspeed.com.. pretty easy install, and haven't had any issues with it.

Gainwise, I actually felt like I lost a little torque at the bottom end, but it probably is made up for up top.. I think somebody posted a dyno sheet a while back where it shows that the torque basically just moves up in the RPM range .. it doesn't vanish, just moves.

I also have the MAC Prochamber and flows on my 01 GT and it sounds great! The car has a head turning rumble. Mine also hase long tube headers so this really makes it rumble! I have heard the MAC Prochamber on 2 other GT's (02, 03) and they sound great as well and they don't have headers!

MAC Prochamber would be my vote!
