IS P.I D.I.Y HARD???

Guys im going to do the Pi swap soon on my 96. The question i have is... can i do it myself??? The local HiPO shop quoted me 1000 bucks in labor for the job. And to be honest thats alot on top of the 3000 im paying for the new fully ported and mildly ground equipment. The set up here is that i have good knowledge of motors and could get everything off...but...its putting everything back on. Things like timing and proper lubes 4 reinstaltion would more and likely be problems.

just follow the directions and you'll be fine


purchase a T fitting for the 2 temp sensors
double check the galley pulgs for the fluid

or do what i did and replace the PI coolant crossover with the aluminum NPI crossover (if you have received the fix)

Okay sounds good... does someone have a better how to guide, something besides a couple okies in a garage. I know i saw that Ford guide one on the internet somewhere...Other than that i do have the alum. crossover. Temp sensors would be on the crossover?Correct

Its really not that hard to do. Just take your time and label all your hardware in ziploc bags. This SAVED me! I had all my seperate hardware in seperate bags with a little note in each bag as to where that set of hardware was suppose to go. It helps a lot when you are putting it all back together, no guess work. Also, take some pics of the vacuum lines and whatnot now, before you take it apart, just incase you dont remember when you go to put it back together. The nice thing is that so many people on here have done it that if you have any questions we should be able to answer them.

thats a decent write up that hundreds have followed including myself. If you can't understand it then maybe its over your head!!!

who needs a write-up. just use your experience and torque sequence/values and do it. how hard can it be?

a '2' on a scale of '10'.
