if so, ill be needing the cobra plenum as well but ill need the inlet that the plenum bolts to correct?

is this the cobra blower?

yep...i just spent a few hours researching...anyway, is there anyway to swap to a saleen snout? the bodies of the supercharger are completely identical, just this one has a shorter snout...i got the blower for free so this is why im asking....

if the snout swap is possible, shouldnt i be able to put in on a saleen intake manifold? im willing to give it a shot at this point....and yes i know, i can buy a kb or vortech blahbity blah, but im just trying to hit about 370hpish

ok so i have confirmed i can use the saleen lower manifold to bolt this to... the only thing i need to know for sure now is if the snouts are interchangeable...if so, does anyone know where to but just the snout?

It's a 3rd Gen M90 found on a '94-'95 Thunderbird SC. Its probably the most desireable of the factory M90's and the same one used with my Allen kit. Assuming the Saleen Blower is a Gen 2 or 3 (Series I or II kit), the snout will be interchangable. You can buy any number of different snouts directly through Eaton.

If you're looking to make some power and have someone that can fabricate an inlet, you should dump the M90 idea and transwer your internals to the Magnum Powers MPX case.

They're much, much more efficent by compasion, can be spun just about as fast as you're willing to try and will make considerable more power.

thanks for the info sir! did AED go out of business? i cant seem to find any links to their stuff anymore

oh and as for power im looking for about 370-390ish not too much...maybe ill get lucky and hit 400 with the cams but i doubt it...not looking to break land speed records just a little more umph on the street

Yes, AED closed their doors for good about a year and a half ago. Great product, but the owners just didn't have the head for business necessary to market it the way they should have.

As far as power goes, with your mods, if you can keep the ACT's cool enough, 370-390rwhp out of the Saleen manifold, with cams shouldn't be too hard to attain.....but you're really going to have to spin it. I would recommend setting some money aside for a good water/methanol set up to seal the deal.

The nice thing about these little blowers, is that when you do spin them hard, the instantaneous levels of throttle response and torque they put out are absolutely stunning. I’ve never seen any power adder short of nitrous pour on the power so early or so rapidly in the power band as I have a hard spun M90. It should make for a very satisfying daily driver. More so if you pony up for the MPX case and really get to spinning it. ;)

sweet good to hear...that'll be awesome if i can get that much power, but im really looking to regain the lost power/torque in my lower power band and what you have said looks like itll be the fix....ill probably never put a smaller pulley on it so ill never really spin this thing too hard...i have to watch boost anyway because of the higher compression i have anyway...

ill have to get the internals that go with the saleen snout right? the insides of this one will be too short for the saleen snout correct? and the pulley is interchangeable im guessing?

man i feel like a noob to all of this

The internals themselves will be the same between the blowers. A 3rd Gen, is a 3rd Gen. The nose drives however will be different. Upon looking at your comparison pictures, it's possible that this blower was on something else other than a Supercoupe, but it's still a 3rd Gen case.

You can check through the various nose drive selections as well as specs an confirmation on the blower you have here. It should give you a good idea as to what you'll need to be doing. I would consider bolting the blowre to the Saleen lower manifold to mock it up and see how much drive length is actually needed before spending any money on parts. To save some money, you can use the drive snout from an earlier Gen II unit ('89-'93 Supercoupe/Cougar XR-7) as they're the same as the later one and they tend to sell for next to nothing on Ebay, but if memory serves, you're still going to need to exted it further.

I had a brain fart earlier and now remember than the Series I (Speedlab) blower used the M90 and the Series II kits used a IV Gen MP90. Making your 3rd Gen M90 will still be doable, but you're going to have to fiddle with the nose drive lengths....not to mention source, or custom make an inlet for the earlier kit.

Here's a picture of the MP90 on the Saleen Series II kit. Notice how different the inlet and case are compared to the 3rd Gen you have....not to mention its use of an external bypass.

Found this link with a little Google search. There may be some further helpful info there....Saleen Superchargers

Do you still have short snout?
