Is this pinion usable?

I attached a picture and the title says it all.

Got a used 4.10 pinion on ebay and it has a chip and a burr on the pinion lip and a little off the ring.

Is it usable? The contact patch is outside this area I think. Crummy used parts.....

Thanks for looking guys.

This one is for the tbird.

I've seen people use way worse you could try it it should be fine.

Just put a good coat of grease on it lol HA HA HA HA. J/K

Second that. Clean it real good and throw it in. I have seen way worse.

Wow, and I thought I was gonna get a lot of folks saying "heck no, that's toast".

I am relieved to hear that. Honestly the guy who sent them should have greased them up a bit



any third opinions on these badboys?

Hey do you need to break in used gears? Just thought of that....

i would never put something that is definately damaged in my car, but it's up to you... gears, i would heat up a few times and let cool to outside temp in between before beating on... but most say it's not necessary...
